Christian Women in the Marketplace Connect Groups are for you!
The purpose of our connect groups is the same as the mission statement for Christian Women in the Marketplace which is taken from Ph
ilippians 2:14 and states:
"If, therefore, their is any
encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there
is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make
my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love,
united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness
or empty conceit, but with humility of mind, let each of you regard one
another as more important than herself; do not merely look out for your
own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
Our desire is to help us all to become better connected with like minded people. Our idea is for ladies with particular interest (gardening, marketing, cooking, mentoring, etc) to meet together and just get to know and encourage each other. Of course, you are welcome to go to all or any of the groups that you choose. Eventually, you may want to participate in a service activity together as a group once a year or have some fun outings together.
These new groups will meet periodically for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (whatever your group decides) at a local eatery or in individual homes.
We are looking for those ladies who are interested in facilitating or co-facilitating a group. As a facilitator, all you will need to do is set a time and a place for your group and call Judy Felts at 615-400-4789, or use the contact form below, to let her know when and where it will be.
As a facilitator, you duties would include:
- Have a sign in sheet with Name, Address, Phone, and email
- Keep notebook with notes from the connect groups
- Always begin and end in prayer
- Allow each person to be introduce and tell a little about themselves
- Use the supplied ice breaker questions to get to know those in your group and to enable each person a chance to talk. Remember, this is a time of fellowship and encouragement, not a counseling session.
- Be on time and end on time
- Email Judy Felts with numbers and a brief overview of the experience. We would also like the data on the women so that we can make sure they are on our mailing list
- Be sure to announce our next big meeting at the connect groups
If you have a particular interest, please fill out the form below so that we can add you and your group to our website.
We will be letting you know how we can best keep all the groups in touch with each other as we figure it out. Perhaps a forum or blog hosted either on this web site or somewhere else. If you have any suggestions, please let us know.
